| John Bell is a Chicago-based freelance writer who specializes in reporting emerging trends in commercial real estate.
In addition to updates, he has covered major topics including the rise of suburban downtowns as a new market force; the national movement by urban downtowns to green up their environments; and the growing importance of mixed-use developments as the nation swings toward more urbanization. He also reported one of the first designations made of industrial real estate as an emerging asset class preferred by lenders and investors.
