| Philip Brooker was born in England, where he studied at Bradfords School of Art and Cardiff School of Art. He lived in New York City for a number of years before relocating to Miami.
Brooker has been creating illustrations commercially for more than 25 years. His illustrations have been published in magazines, books and ad campaigns, for clients including BusinessWeek, Sports Illustrated, The Washington Post, The New York Times, The Los Angeles Times, U.S. News & World Report, Entertainment Weekly, Architectural Digest, TV Guide, House & Garden, L.A. Magazine , CNN, Bantam Books, Chase Manhattan Bank and Time Warner.
Until 2007, Brooker was the art director and an illustrator for The Miami Herald, where he worked full-time for 25 years. He has won numerous awards for his work, including awards from PRINT Magazine , the Society of Newspaper Design, Communication Arts and American Illustration, among others.
In addition to painting, he creates digitally pigmented prints. His work has been exhibited in shows and collections worldwide, including New Lane Gallery, England; Leeds Museum of Art, England; Hochman Jacobson Gallery, New York; The Drawing Center, New York; Holly Solomon Gallery, New York; Studio Franck Bordas, Paris; Galerie Climate, Paris; SAGA Grand Palais, Paris; High Definition Show Center for Contemporary Art, Miami; Gloria Luria Gallery, Miami; Virginia Miller Gallery, Miami; Metropolitan Museum of Art, Miami; Fort Lauderdale Museum of Art, Florida; and Asheville Museum of Art, North Carolina.
