Illustrator
| After receiving a diploma in classical studies from the Academy of Fine Arts in Milan, Italy, Beppe Giacobbe moved to New York to attend the School of Visual Arts. He eventually returned to Milan; however, his colors reflect the lights of his homeland, Sicily.
Giacobbe’s work is regularly accepted in major U.S. illustration annuals, and he has earned several awards in Italy and America. United Airlines has used many of his concepts and illustrations in its current campaign, and he has contributed illustrations for many children’s and adult books. His graphically strong authors’ portraits for Rizzoli book covers have received many accolades. Giacobbe loves to illustrate children's books, and currently has one on the shelves for Candlewick Press and two for Hyperion Books.
Aside from illustrating, Giacobbe enjoyed teaching at the European Institute of Design for 12 years, and making sculpture from knick-knacks and pieces of wood he finds along his walks.
