Mike Heid
Co-President - Wells Fargo Home Mortgage

Mike Heid is co-president for Wells Fargo Home Mortgage (WFHM), Des Moines, Iowa, a division of Wells Fargo Bank NA. His responsibilities include joint leadership of the overall business and strategic direction of the mortgage division.

Heid is also vice chair of the Housing Policy Council of the Financial Services Roundtable, a trade association whose members represent approximately 65 percent of the mortgage industry. In this role, he is actively involved in shaping legislative and regulatory policy impacting the mortgage industry as a whole.

Prior to being named WFHM co-president in June 2004, Heid was executive vice president, chief financial officer for Wells Fargo Home Mortgage. He served as executive vice president of loan servicing from 1997 until being named chief financial officer in 2002. As executive vice president of loan servicing and post-closing, Heid oversaw operation of the company’s six loan servicing centers, as well as the division’s $500 billion servicing portfolio representing more than 4.2 million customers.

He was named vice president of loan servicing in 1993 and was promoted to senior vice president of loan servicing in 1996. Heid joined the Wells Fargo organization in 1988 and Wells Fargo Home Mortgage in April 1991 as assistant vice president and controller.

He has more than 22 years of experience in mortgage banking and six years of public accounting experience with Price Waterhouse.

Heid earned a bachelor’s degree in accounting, summa cum laude, from the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater. He is also a certified public accountant (CPA) and a member of the Mortgage Bankers Association (MBA).
