| Janet Reilley Hewitt has been editor in chief of Mortgage Banking since 1988.
Previously, she was a reporter in the Washington, D.C., bureau of Institutional Investor magazine’s Bondweek newsletter. Prior to that, she covered the tax-writing committees in Congress, the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC), the Department of the Treasury and the Department of Labor for tax and securities publications for Prentice-Hall Inc. She also wrote for Trial magazine, published by the American Trial Lawyers Association. She has interviewed Federal Reserve Board governors, SEC commissioners, the secretary of Housing and Urban Development and members of Congress.
Hewitt earned a bachelor of arts degree with a major in English from the University of California-Berkeley, and a master of science degree in journalism from the University of Oregon.
