| Half-French and half-Italian, Yan Nascimbene was raised in Paris, the South of France and Northern Italy before moving to the United States as an art student. After working as a photographer and in film-making, he became an illustrator at the age of 35.
With 50 full books to his credit and more than 300 book covers, Nascimbene’s work is widely published throughout the world. Clients include The New Yorker, The New York Times, The Los Angeles Times, The Wall Street Journal, TIME magazine, United Airlines, Air France, British Airways, Apple, Macy's, Barnes & Noble, Calvin Klein, IBM and Perrier. He is the recipient of many awards, including the Society of Illustrators’ Gold and Silver medals, and the Bologna International Book Fair Graphic Award.
Nascimbene and his wife, a painter and ceramist, divide their time between northern California and Cotignac, a medieval village in the heart of Provence, France. They have three grown children.
